Taupaki School has an active enrolment scheme in place and we accept all students who live within our school zone once proof of address has been provided to the school office.  

If you are a homeowner, an original rates/water bill in your name can be used as proof or address.  If you are renting, a copy of your tenancy agreement and a bank statement showing 4 consecutive rental payments will be needed as proof of address.

For planning purposes, if you live in our school zone and are looking at starting your child with us, please notify the school office when your child turns 4 years of age and we will add them to our enrolment database.

For students who are starting school for the very first time (Year 0/ Year 1), our Head of New Entrants will get in touch with you, approx. 4-6 weeks prior to your child’s birthday.  They will let you know important information about starting school such as visit dates, the name of your child’s teacher and what class they will be joining.  During these visits you will get a chance to meet your child’s teacher, discuss any queries you may have and receive a stationery list.

You are welcome to call the office and make an appointment with the Principal if you have further enrolment queries or if you would like a tour of the school.

We have cohort entry for our new entrant students.  Once your child has turned 5 years of age, they can start school at the next intake date.  The term intake dates are set by the Ministry of Education.  The first day of each term is an intake date and there is a second one midway through each term.  Please see dates below:

All students who lie within the home zone described below and shown on the attached map will be entitled to enrol at Taupaki School.

The zone is bounded in the east and the south by the local authority boundary between Rodney District Council and Waitakere City Council which follows the Ngongetepara Stream from Highway 16 to Red Hill Road and along Sunnyvale Road and then follows property boundaries rather than roads across to Amreins Road (where the zone includes all properties in Amreins Road) and on to Waitakere Road.  The boundary then follows Waitakere Road to Hunter Road, Cuthbert Road, Annandale Road, includes Pioneer Lane, Hanham Road, Waitakere Road to Highway 16 and then along Highway 16 to Ngongetepara Stream (Council boundary).  Where the zone boundary follows roads, properties on both sides of the roads that have road frontage to the zone boundary, are considered to be within the zone.

To avoid any doubt as to which properties fall within the home zone the following information clearly identifies the street numbers of the properties that are within the home zone, for each road on or near the zone boundary.

State Highway 16:            All even numbers from the Ngongetepara Stream (number 238) west to 550.

                                        All odd numbers from the Ngongetepara Stream (number 239) west to number 551.

Main Road (SH16):            All even numbers from number 2 to number 82.

                                          All odd numbers from number 1 to number 65.

Waitakere Road:               All even numbers from number 144 onwards.

                                          All odd numbers from number 179 onwards.

Hanham Road:                 All properties.

Tawa Road:                     Number 347 (On the corner of Hanham Road)

Annandale Road:               All properties.

Pioneer Lane:                   All properties.

Cuthbert Road:                  All properties.

Hunter Road:                    All properties.

Amreins Road: All properties.

Sunnyvale Road: All even number properties north of the local authority boundary (number 50).  All odd numbers from number 57 onwards.

Red Hills Road:                   All even numbers from number 58 onwards.

                                            All odd numbers from number 83 onwards.

All other properties on roads within the home zone are included within the zone.
