Our 'Out of Zone' roll is currently closed for 2025.
Thank you for showing an interest in our wonderful school.
We have looked at the numbers for the 2026 school year at Taupaki School.
There is an element of prediction involved based on the facts and an element of crystal ball gazing as we are unsure who will move into our zone over the year.
For 2026:
OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS
The Taupaki School Board of Trustees invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their child at Taupaki School for 2026. Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available at the school office or on our school website.
The Board has determined that the following spaces are likely to be available for out of zone students in 2026.
- 4 spaces in Year 0 (start after the 21st of April 2026) At Taupaki School, we have cohort entry for our new entrant students. These students will either start school on the first day of the school term or they will start half way through the term with a date given to us by the Ministry of Education. This means that your child will start school at the next cohort date after they have turned 5 years of age.
- 5 spaces in Year 1
- 4 spaces in Year 7
Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to open any out of zone spaces in our Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 or Year 8 levels.
If you have received this message via email, we have received an Expression of Interest form from you about your child/ren requesting a space with us. Your child/ren are already included in our out of zone ballot.
If you are reading this message on our website, please email an Expression of Interest form or contact Taupaki School by emailing Enrolments at Taupaki School.
If you are unsure if we have received your form, please email Enrolments at Taupaki School.
The deadline for applications is by midday Wednesday 8th October.
If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required, it will be held on Wednesday the 15th of October. Parents of successful applications will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three days of the ballot being held. If you are unsuccessful in the ballot process, you will receive confirmation of the declined application in due course. Ballot guidelines can be found on the Ministry of Education website here.
Another ballot may occur in late Term 2, 2026 in the unlikely event of the spaces not filled.
If you are interested in having a look around the school, please feel free to come and have a walk around during the weekends. Families who are successful in securing an out of zone space after the ballot has been completed, will be able to have an introductory tour around the school on request.
If you have received this email and no longer wish to be included in any future out of zone ballots for Taupaki School, please email Enrolments to let us know.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kathy at Enrolments.
