Each and every child should leave this school reading at or above their chronological age and leave with mathematical skills that will enable them to have choice in their future education.

We know every child learns and thinks in different ways. We cater for difference within each and every classroom. Children with special needs and abilities are identified using a variety of criteria and appropriate measures are taken.

Students at Taupaki School receive specialist music instruction from New Entrants to Year Eight. There are also opportunities to be involved in our annual production or Arts festival.

Learning dispositions and thinking skills are at the forefront. We prepare the future generations by focussing on teaching children how to learn, how to think in a variety of ways and most importantly how to select which thinking strategy for the situation they are faced with.

We offer our students experiences in camping, skiing and trekking. In sport we offer diversity from Mini-Ball to Rippa-Rugby across all levels of the school.

Our teachers are encouraged to grasp the teachable moment, drawing on topics and events that happen to our children in our school and wider community.

Our purpose built technology facilities provide learning experiences in Food, Hard Materials & Design technology . Our students learn the correct processes in order to create a solution for an authentic need.

Serene grounds complete with age appropriate playgrounds, a large field and sand pit. We value space, both inside and out. Teachers and students have a great respect for our physical environment because they have taken a sustainable role in caring for it.

Leadership is a key feature of our school. Great leadership abounds in all areas from students to teachers. We have a wide range of leadership opportunities for students such as House Captains to Student Council, Librarian, Sports and Wet Day monitors.
