Taupaki School is about opportunities; to be stretched, to be supported, to try something new. We offer students music, sports, outdoor education, leadership, technology and more.
We take a keen interest in Sport and many of our students take part in organised school sports teams run by dedicated parents and teachers. We offer diversity including soccer, swimming, softball, netball, squash, touch, gymnastics and athletics. Students have the chance represent our school in regular sports field days in a wide variety of sports, Centennial Soccer matches and the Auckland Champs.
Each year you will be able to support your child at a number of school wide sporting events such as Athletics, Gymnastics and Cross Country.
Our outdoor education programme is one of the best around. All children experience camp from year four on a bienniel cycle with our Year Seven and Eight children experiencing a camp each year. Each year the entire senior school have a camp at either Willow Park, Eastern Beach or M.O.E.C. on Motutapu Island.
There are also three other optional Outdoor Experiences - Ski Camps, the Whakapapa Experience which takes the children across the Tongariro crossing tramping, caving aand white water rafting and a Waitakere Range adventure.
Music & Performing Arts
Students at Taupaki School receive specialist music instruction from New Entrants to Year Eight. Every class receives an hour of music every week, taught by our resident music specialist.
In addition to their weekly lessons, children have the opportunity to learn to play a variety of instruments, such as the ukelele and marimba. They can also become involved in our many choirs running throughout the year.
Each year, students will also be involved in our school wide production or Arts festival which occurs on alternate years. All these opportunities build confidence and develop the strong foundations in the creative arts.
Leadership is a key feature of our school. Great leadership abounds in all areas from students to teachers. We have a wide range of leadership opportunities for students such as House Captains to Student Council, Librarian, Sports and Wet Day monitors.
