MONSTER FIREWORKS DISPLAY

 UPDATED WEDNESDAY 4 NOVEMBER

YES IT'S ON!!!!  FRIDAY 6th NOVEMBER  from 5pm!!!

Due to the unusually large amount of rain we had during the last few weeks the school was advised that the Kumeu Showgrounds were too wet to park on last week. We therefore had to postpone our Firework display until this Friday (6th November). We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but are confident that by giving the grounds a chance to dry out we will be able to offer the community an even more enjoyable evening. So please COME ALONG AND SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL!

 RE- LIVE HALLOWEEN!

We will be giving out FREE lollies to kids (and even some adults)

Witches, Monsters and Pumpkins Welcome!

Last year, the famous and spectacular Taupaki School fireworks display moved its date to Halloween. The result – the Monster Firework Display - turned out to be an even bigger success than imagined, and a very enjoyable night out for all, combining both stunning fireworks with the added fun and thrills of a spooky Halloween night.

2009 will be even better. This, the 11th year of Taupaki School’s fireworks display, will be held on Friday 6th November, at the Kumeu Showgrounds from 5.00pm, with fireworks from about 8.30pm, and promises to be a great night all round.

Professional display

There will be thousands of dollars worth of serious fireworks thanks to the York family of Shogun Fireworks, the internationally renowed fireworks display company who very generously stage this fireworks event for the school every year. There will be a great selection of food, plenty of entertainment, rides for kids big and small, stalls and an invitation to all little monsters aged 13 and under Halloween to dress up in their best Halloween outfits – witches, ghosts, ghouls and pumpkins all welcome.

Improved access and entry

Having learnt a great deal from last year, the organising committee has made significant improvements to the access and entry, with two entry gates on Access Road opening at 5.00pm and Eftpos facilities at both the point of entry and inside the showgrounds. Parking is free and tickets are very well priced at $10 per adult, $5 per child or senior or our super value $30 family ticket for 2 adults and up to 4 children.

Come early and eat

The food this year will also be more diverse to cater for a variety of tastes. The yummy selection includes lamb on a spit and hot pork or ham rolls, burgers, sausages, frankfurters and chips as well as pavlova, ice-cream, donuts, cake, shaved ice and more. And great coffee!!!! There will be plenty of everything as well, so come early, grab a good vantage point and eat here.

Nor will you be bored. The school has organised a programme of entertainment from live music to sky divers. There are rides galore to keep everyone happy from Mission Impossible to a Pirate ship and a Merry go Round, from mini jeeps to the Go Vertical Bungee and the MM Roadshow, as well as face painting, stalls selling glow sticks and flashing toys.

Most of all, don’t forget this is Taupaki School’s major fund raising event of the year. As Principal Stephen Lethbridge comments, “We are grateful for the wonderful support the York family, the local community – and those further afield - show us every year. We know this year hasn’t been easy, but hope that our community will once again get into the spirit of the event and show their support by joining us for this wonderful family night out”.
