At the end of term two the school put otgether an Arts festival. Room 7 performed the Jabberwocky with drama and added our own soundscape. Here is a photo of us at the end of the performance and some recounts written by a few students from the class.
Getting ready to play in the Jabberwocky poem, with a mask that made me look like a geek. Not being sure if I'm nervous like a man in a circus or excited like I was about to go on a rollercoaster. After the first performance I was feeling a little better. I had already played twice in the ukulele and marimba band and once in the poem.Once M.V had told us to stand up and take a bow, I thought I saw roses flying in the air and I felt great.

I felt nervous as I walked onto the stage. I saw all these eyes looking at me like cat's eyes in the dark. Everybody got into their places on the stage and we finally started."Twas brillig and the slithy toves," I said ,as the poem has just started. Each line I said, a tiny piece of nervousness went away. Once I said the first paragraph I felt O.K.Finally the Jabberwocky poem was coming to an end. It felt like I was standing on that stage for years, each with a thousand days in them! When the poem finished, I walked off the stage and ran out of the hall door. We did it!I felt so glad that it was over and done with. Don't worry, Rom 7 had to do the same poem to the whole school the next day.

Confidence.
Unlike the rest of the class, I felt like that.
Everyone else in the class was feeling nervous, but me, I had performed on the stage for years.
I walked on the stage and took my place. I tried pulling my hair back, but decided against it.
My turn came to speak as narrator. Words flowed perfectly and with expression.
Knowing that the words "Jabberwock with eyes of flame" were hanging in the air for a second, I stopped to let the instruments play.
The play was over in a trice.
I didn't see my Mum in the audience, but I knew she was there.

I took the lead up onto the stage. My stomach churned and I went all hot. We all faced the wall that had been covered in red and black paper. The narrators started and we were introduced.
When "The mome raths outgrabe" was said by Emily, I did my little skip, trot with my shaking legs and forced my arms into a ballet position. When the Jabberwocky came on stage we scuttled of and waited for the finish.
It ended quite quickly and as M.V instructed us we all stood at the front and bowed.

When I went to play my instrument I had to look at the conductor. I had to be focussed and I felt confident because I practised every Wednesday and I got better and better.
The day came and Alex was sitting next to me. I said ," You better watch out or you will be as deaf as a bat".
He said, "Yeah, right", and put his head next to my drum. Then I whacked the beater on the drum and he said "Ouch", and I took that word back.
Everybody went silent like winter. That made me feel nervous.
