Room 4

In Room Four we have been exploring learning and leadership. Here are some of our ideas:

‘What makes a good Learner?’

Try stuff, be confident, think properly, have a go!, try new things, listen carefully, listen so you know what to do, practice, ask for ideas, try as hard as you can, work well, try your best, if it’s always too easy you wouldn’t be learning, ask for harder work, show other people how to do things, share ideas, ask your friend to help you, mistakes help you learn, mistakes are good, use your learning helpers (teachers, parents, other family members, friends, other people),go on the internet, read (books, newspapers, stories), look at pictures.

‘What makes a good Leader?’

Be kind, be nice, show them what to do, show them where to go, be honest, use a nice voice, don’t get angry, don’t have a fit, work together, try your hardest, say some positive things about people, have a nice smile, listen to people when they are talking, take turns, show them how to be a leader, show them respect, set a good example, be quiet and sensible, share things and ideas.

We have a Leaders board and the children have been taking turns to teach and try leadership roles within the classroom. This has worked very well and I have been so impressed with the way they have stepped up and displayed confidence, initiative, patience, honesty and kindness while helping others with their learning.

We have talented children and our class is an exciting place to be!

This term our big picture focus is "Wow!" We have a student teacher in our class and we having been doing lots of interesting science activities. We have made crystals, exploding volcanoes, tepees and much more.
